Research interest of the group:
Vision: Making molecular vulnerabilities clinically actionable
· Mechanism of tumor immune evasion, suppression and resistance to cancer therapeutics.
· Modulation of anti-tumor immune response by tumor and immune microenvironment
· Development of cancer targeting strategies for better control of tumor growth
· Molecular mechanisms regulating endocytic and exocytic pathways
The research group is focusing on elucidating the mechanisms of cancer immune evasion, suppression and resistance to cancer treatments. The accumulated experience in various fields namely molecular biology, cancer biology and modeling in mice, and tumor immunology, led the group to provide insights into cancer–immune cell interactions, tumor microenvironment and immunomodulatory factors, through elucidating the mechanisms of tumor resistance to therapies.
Furthermore, driven by the mission of innovating cancer care, the group joint efforts aim to bridge molecular discoveries with clinical oncology. The discovery of multiple drivers of cancer progression, immune evasion, suppression and resistance to cancer therapeutics, has revealed molecular targets, immune and metabolic checkpoints that could be exploited for better engineering of tumor and immune microenvironment, as well as innovating drug combinations for a better cancer care.
